• Work in Sussex and Kent, keeping it local and sustainable

Some of our work

Set in a community kitchen, this play took the audience into Eastbourne's past while exploring current themes. The script was based on stories and memories shared by local people and through research with local historians.

Taking part were:

• 147 Set, prop and costume makers

• 7 Young Creatives

• 42 Community actors

• 34 musicians

• 77 Singers

Inside Outside (2023) a co-production with Discovery College

Working with young people with lived experience of mental health challenges, we co-created a play about their lives that was performed to students in local secondary schools.

And together with BAFTA award, winning film maker Luke Gallie, we developed eight bite-size videos about the young peoples' experiences, which formed the backbone of a series of PSHE lesson packs on mental health and well-being.

All Change for Ashford (2022)

Based on historical research and interviews with local railway workers, this play celebrated Ashford and its railways from 1843 to the Covid pandemic. Five local choirs and a brass band moved us through time periods and across three Central Ashford, venues, while outdoor projections enable local people to speak for themselves

• Passionate about local arts provision and enabling people to come together and learn through creativity

• Interested in community development and participation

• Recently within education, either as a teacher or school or college worker or in full-time education

• Experienced in health, well-being and social prescribing?

All potential trustees should live in Sussex or Kent and be over the age of 18

What we ask from you

The Company are currently looking to bring a new trustee on board.

The joint artistic directors undertake the day to day, management of projects, finances, fundraising and charity management.

The role of a trustee is:

• To participate in all trustee meetings (approximately four meetings a year)

• To support the joint artistic directors with advice and guidance as required

• To oversee the management of the company and offer ideas on future strategy

• To attend occasional events to experience and monitor the work of the company.
